Position Overview
Administrative Associate I (S) – Temporary assignment in the Office of State Human Resources, Department of Environmental Quality. Hourly rate: $17.00. Position located at 610 E Center Avenue, Mooresville, Iredell County.
Job Classification
Grade NC01. This is a temporary position (no leave or retirement benefits). Temporary employees working an average of 30+ hours per week may be eligible for the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).
Management Preferences / Expectations
Basic knowledge of program services, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrate and apply this knowledge in performing office support tasks.
Explain and interpret program information to clients/customers and staff.
Basic knowledge of data collection and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information.
Convey basic information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups.
Adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the recipient(s).
Present ideas in written form.
Use correct grammar, organization, and structure.
Utilize office equipment and other technology (software and systems) to meet work needs.
Facilitate the flow of work and coordinate office support activities with other staff.
Maintain internal and external contacts for work coordination.
Understand basic issues, identify problems, and determine the appropriate course of action.
Minimum Education and Experience
High school or GED diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Permanent and time‑limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time‑limited position to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.
