Job: Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Shift: Days 6:00AM-6:30PM; 223 Rotating Shift

Location: Royal Canin (Fremont, NE)

Responsibilities

Always operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Perform periodic and routine inventories of raw materials in storage.

Provide and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment.

Assist in other production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality activity in other areas as directed.

Perform housekeeping and sanitation procedures.

Provide functional communication with other staff members as necessary to optimize quality, efficiency, productivity and safety.

Loading trucks, live loads and staged loads.

Operate forklift – expert level.

Direct ship responsibility including proper disposition of hold product, food safety hold product and released product.

WMS, BOL responsibility / accountability.

Support Warehouse Area Lead with all activities associated with the shipping department.

Stand on a concrete floor, sit, get up and down off of a forklift often.

Wear proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).

Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs.

Adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals.

Vision correctable to 20/20.

Qualifications

Be 18 years of age or older.

Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education.

Willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules.

Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English.

Forklift certified.

Knowledge of inventory computer systems WMS.

Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety.

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
