NextStep Recruiting is seeking a Legal Recruiter Consultant to support our growing legal staffing practice. This is an internal, fully remote opportunity focused on placing legal professionals in both contract and direct hire roles. Candidates must be based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

This role is ideal for a recruiter who understands the legal talent market and enjoys working in a collaborative, team-oriented agency environment. Our culture emphasizes partnership over competition. Recruiters and sales work closely together; there are no internal “sharks,” and leadership prioritizes transparency and long-term success. We offer a stable structure with hourly pay plus commission, giving recruiters both consistency and upside.

Summary
The Legal Recruiter Consultant will manage full‑cycle recruiting for legal roles such as attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, schedulers, and related legal support positions. This person will build pipelines, screen candidates, and partner with account managers to deliver strong talent to clients.

Responsibilities

Manage full‑cycle recruiting for contract and direct hire legal roles

Source and screen legal professionals using multiple channels

Conduct candidate interviews and evaluate qualifications and fit

Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring legal skill sets

Partner closely with sales and leadership to fill client needs

Maintain accurate candidate and activity records in Loxo ATS

Provide a strong candidate experience through clear communication and follow‑up

Required

Prior recruiting experience, ideally in an agency environment

Exposure to legal recruiting or the legal industry hiring preferred

Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Strong communication and relationship‑building skills

Must be based in the DFW area

Preferred

Experience recruiting attorneys or legal support staff

Familiarity with Loxo or similar ATS platforms

Comfort working on both contract and direct hire roles

Strong sourcing and pipeline‑building skills
