
Coating Operator

Overview
Safety is our top priority. This position must follow and enforce all safety rules, regulations, and TC policies. The successful candidate will recognize and respond to potential hazards and safeguards, including machine guarding, light curtains, and pinch points; lockout/tagout; safety data sheets; proper grounding and E‑stops; fire alarms and site evacuation procedures. Ensuring safe work practices, ethical conduct, and consistent compliance across all work activities is essential.
Work Schedule
This position works a rotating shift schedule that changes every 4 weeks. Shift length may be 8‑hour or 12‑hour shifts, depending on production needs.
Shift options include:
12‑Hour Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
8‑Hour Shifts: 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM; 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM; 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Candidates must be willing to work any and all shifts as required.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all essential functions of Coating Assistant I & II
Lead and direct team members in the safe setup, operation, cleanup, and shutdown of coating equipment
Review production schedules, product specifications, and job changes to ensure production and quality targets are met
Coordinate with planning, engineering, and quality to support production flow and resolve issues
Ensure team compliance with SOPs, OPLs, FIFO practices, and detailed stock lists
Lead troubleshooting, machine adjustments, and TPM activities
Escalate issues promptly per the Escalation Procedure
Operate and oversee use of HMI systems (SCADA/Wonderware) and online equipment (camera systems, gauges, UV, viscometers, corona treaters, web cleaners, edge guides)
Ensure accurate time, material, scrap, and data entry in Prism and HMIs
Perform and support Make Ready tasks, including die setups, pump setups, hose making, feed system assembly, and parts cleaning
Change out nips, impressions, and gravure cylinders on applicable machines
Participate in quality reviews and assist with customer complaint resolution
Complete detailed shift‑to‑shift handoffs and alert management of unusual conditions or damage
Train, mentor, and support other team members as needed

Ability to read and write

Excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment
