Construction Laborer

is responsible for supporting construction projects by performing a wide range of manual labor tasks to assist skilled tradespeople and ensure job site cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. Ideal candidates are physically capable, safety‑conscious, and ready to work in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.

Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, setting up barricades, and ensuring work areas are safe.

Assist with the assembly and disassembly of temporary structures, scaffolding, and other construction components.

Operate hand and power tools as directed.

Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, or other materials.

Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and assist with grading and leveling.

Support skilled trades such as carpenters, electricians, or plumbers with basic tasks.

Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and crew leaders.

Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.

Adhere to all site safety rules and company policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Reliable transportation to and from the job site.

Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment.

Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Additional Qualifications

Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or a related labor‑intensive field.

Familiarity with basic construction tools and materials.

OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Forklift or equipment operation experience is a bonus.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.

Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and at heights.

Ability to work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.

Manual dexterity and coordination for operating tools and handling materials.

Strong attention to safety and detail.

Ability to take direction and complete tasks efficiently.

Capable of working in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.

Good communication and problem‑solving skills.

Awareness of surroundings and potential hazards on job sites.

Working Environment

Work outdoors and indoors depending on the project.

Work is performed in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, or wind.

Job sites may be dusty, noisy, and involve exposure to construction hazards.

Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.

Work may be physically demanding and performed under tight schedules.
