
Construction Manager

Job Description
4LEAF is seeking qualified Construction Managers for Public Works projects in the county of San Diego. The ideal candidate will be able to perform contract administration tasks, observe and evaluate the contractor's compliance with the intent of the construction documents, and evaluate the contractor’s proposed remedial actions as required for public works-type projects.
Responsibilities
The following represents the normal responsibilities associated with providing construction management during the construction phase of a project:
Provide technical and administrative management services for the project, manage all contract activities related to the construction of the project, and coordinate with the State Representative, Project Manager (PM) and Design Lead on all correspondence.
Perform the duties of a Construction Manager (CM), including monitoring construction, scheduling, quality calculations, estimates, coordinate materials and sampling control, and ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, permits and agreements.
Receive, review, and respond to Requests for Information (RFI) submittals.
Change Order Requests (COR’s) and notices of potential claim.
Coordinate all construction activities with applicable agency staff.
Conduct regular progress meetings with project team.
Maintain project communication and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Certified Construction Manager (C.C.M.) preferred.
5 years of experience as a Construction Manager on public works or civil infrastructure projects.
Prior experience with state-and federally funded projects.
Prepare RFPs and RFQs.
Experience on roadways, earthwork and grading, underground utilities, traffic signalization projects and general construction management.
Proficient computer, writing, organizational, and communication skills.
Good problem-solving capability and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands while performing the duties of this position
An individual must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Able to bend and stoop.
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
Able to work in adverse weather conditions (i.e. hot and cold climates).
4LEAF anticipates that the salary range for this position will be between $140,800 and $172,000 per year, commensurate with professional certifications, experience, and the location of public works projects the staff will be assigned.
