Position Summary
The ideal intern will provide junior‑level engineering support to the manufacturing processes and will assist to design, install, and maintain production processes to fulfill customer requirements. Will provide support to engineering teams in being responsible for product and process design changes and support continuous improvement initiatives. Through hands‑on experience in manufacturing, engineering, and other areas of the company, the intern will have key experience in the different disciplines of engineering. The summer assignment duration is about 8‑12 weeks.
We offer market competitive compensation. The salary for this role is $20.00/hour.
Key Responsibilities
Determine the root cause of manufacturing defects and develop and implement corrective actions.
Gather and analyze data on specific high volume product in order to determine possible improvements in manufacturing processes.
Assist Engineers in the design and development of tooling, processes, and equipment.
Balance operator workload, reduce non‑value‑added activities and eliminate and/or improve ergonomic issues.
Propose cell layout changes and process changes to improve output.
Develop and maintain standard work for the process/cell.
Perform time, motion, and other studies.
Job Requirements
Working towards a Bachelor’s college degree required. Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering Major preferred.
Basic knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection equipment and techniques preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Basic shop math skills required.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Capable of multi‑tasking or assisting on multiple projects.
