Position Overview
Brothers Custom Automotive in Troy, Michigan is seeking certified fabricators, welders, custom automotive builders, bodyworkers, and painters to join a high‑end custom and classic car shop.
We build hot rods, custom show cars, and restore treasured classics, with a focus on vehicles built pre‑1970.
Fabricator / Welder
Responsibilities and required skills include:
Proficient in cutting, shaping, and forming metal.
Experience with MIG and TIG welding, rust repair, metal finishing, and structural repair.
Accurate measuring and ability to duplicate or reverse‑engineer panels or parts.
Template making and building patch panels.
Ability to build custom exhausts and basic understanding of automotive suspension and construction.
Willingness to learn and improve skills over time.
Painter & Bodywork
Responsibilities and required skills include:
Surface development, sanding, priming, and painting of automobiles.
Disassemble and reassemble classic cars with care and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a clean, full downdraft paint booth.
General Requirements
Full‑time availability and reliable attendance.
Pride in workmanship and commitment to quality.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Own tools for the trade are preferred; shop provides MIG, TIG welders, metal shear, bead roller, and planishing hammer.
Enthusiastic, flexible, and capable of improving skills.
