Job Summary
Entry level Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production & facility equipment according to safety, predictive & productive maintenance systems & processes to support achievement of site business goals & objectives.
Duties of Position
Perform highly diversified duties to install & maintain production machines & the plant facility's equipment
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production & perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
Perform simple machinist duties & responsibilities
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting & repair of production machines
Read & interpret equipment manuals & work orders to perform required maintenance & service
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test & make adjustments
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment & plant facilities
Use a variety of hand & power tools, electric meters & material handling equipment in performing duties
Adhere to all safety policies; identify & report unsafe conditions to Supervisor
Maintain a safe clean & organized work area
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education Requirements
Certificate in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.
High school diploma/GED & completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education & production maintenance experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc., with precision.
Ability to work on teams or alone.
Ability to read & perform basic mathematics.
Basic computer skills.
Working Conditions
May be exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust & fumes; moving mechanical parts & vibration.
Production floor is not temperature controlled year round.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift &/or move minimum 75 pounds for most machinery.
This position is very active & requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, & climbing all day.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception & ability to adjust focus.

Various production equipment.
