
Underground Construction Laborer

Key Responsibilities
Perform general labor duties for telecommunications construction projects
Assist with directional drilling, excavation, trenching, pipe placement, backfilling, and site restoration
Support installation of conduit, duct, cable, and pedestals
Perform potholing and hand digging around existing utilities
Set up and break down job sites daily, including equipment and materials
Direct and control traffic safely in active work zones (flagging)
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
Ensure proper handling and accountability of tools, equipment, and materials
Complete daily equipment safety inspections and maintenance checks
Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment according to established company standards and procedures
Perform work in a safe manner and comply with all established safety policies and procedures
Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.
Work efficiently to complete tasks on schedule in a fast-paced environment
Collaborate with crew members and support field operations as needed
Willingness to work shifts as assigned, including daily overtime when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience in general construction, including flagging, landscaping, and/or concrete restoration
Telecommunications or directional drilling experience preferred
Ability to safely direct traffic and maintain secure work zones
Strong physical stamina with the ability to dig, lift, climb, bend, crawl, and stand for extended periods
Ability to work in various weather conditions and outdoor environments
Strong work ethic with reliability, punctuality, and accountability
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Effective communication skills when interacting with coworkers, customers, and homeowners
Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL preferred
Ability to pass drug screening and background check
Must be authorized to work in the United States
