Position Summary
Immediate position available for a Full time CAD/Revit Designer at a local growing HVAC company. Salary negotiable based on prior experience, ability to work with others, attitude, and skill level.
We are a full service HVAC contractor with a full office staff including an engineering & construction dept, HVAC controls dept, sales staff & support as well as commercial & residential service department, in‑house sheetmetal fabrication shop and field installers.
Our projects consist of HVAC in‑house design/build as well as plan/spec engineering drawings for commercial offices, schools, high‑rise residential projects, medical facilities, distribution centers, etc ranging from 10,000 SF to over 1,000,000 SF. We utilize AutoCAD MEP & Revit along with Autodesk Fabrication software for our design and spool drawings to integrate with our in‑house sheetmetal fabrication shop.
Responsibilities
Reading and interpreting construction drawings including architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural blueprints.
Assisting the Engineering/Design team in creating 3D HVAC design drawings as well as creating field coordination and fabrication installation drawings. This includes Plan & Spec, Design Build & Design assist applications.
Perform site visits with the sales team, project managers, service technicians, architects and general contractors to assess building HVAC needs. This includes site visits for final as built drawings.
Using computer aided drafting software: AutoCAD, Revit, Sysque, Navisworks to create fully coordinated 3D BIM models to specific project LOD (Level of Design).
Attend/Participate in 3D BIM coordination meetings.
Required Knowledge and Skills
5+ years of related experience.
Bachelor’s or related technical degree is not required but preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD & Navisworks.
Proficient in Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Must be self‑motivated with good time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
Great customer service and communication skills are required.
Analytical and critical problem‑solving skills are a top priority.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing systems and building materials.
Technical knowledge of forced air and hydronic HVAC equipment.
Building automation system knowledge is a plus.
Basic knowledge of building codes and standards: ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, SMACNA, LEED, IFC, etc.
