What You’ll Do
Develop clear, compelling visuals, applications, and summaries for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Train and support staff to enhance data quality and data‑driven practices.
Recommend and help implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reliability.
Perform a full range of asset management functions, including researching, analyzing, and improving workflows, with a focus on asset management planning.
Evaluate organizational, infrastructure, and regulatory issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Perform root‑cause analysis and proactively identify potential issues across applications, processes, and workflows, leveraging technical expertise to implement optimized solutions.
Create, maintain, and refine asset data inventories across enterprise and standalone asset management systems.
Assist DPW employees in the use of GIS applications.
Design, diagram, and implement workflow processes to integrate asset management data with GIS.

Compensation & Schedule
Hiring Range: $46.06 - $50.00 hourly
Anticipated work schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 5:30pm or Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm; subject to change.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, IT, or other science‑related field.
Six years of GIS or related experience. (Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of the required experience.)
GPS data collection experience.
Prior asset management experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledgeable of GIS software and technology.
Proficiency in programming languages such as VB Script, Python, SQL, PL/SQL, and dashboard programming languages such as HTML/CSS, and JavaScript.
Proficiency with ArcGIS Online, including development of web maps, field applications, shared layer services, and user management.
Proficiency with relational databases such as Access, SQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, high technical competence in geospatial development, analysis, and design.
Adaptable to changing priorities and directives.
Ability to mentor and train co‑workers.
Ability to produce timely and accurate reports and perform correct mathematical calculations.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment; collaborative team player with attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, other County personnel, vendors, and the public; excellent customer service.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Licenses & Certificates
Valid driver’s license.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
Must pass conditional post‑offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen.
Additional Information
Duties are primarily performed in an office and remote work environment dependent upon Department discretion and business needs. Some travel is required; occasionally work in the field under adverse weather conditions.
