Position Summary
We are hiring a Mixed‑Signal Architecture Validation Engineer to partner with internal engineering teams to deliver products to market.
Responsibilities
Own mixed‑signal architecture validation for Lightmatter’s Passage product line, working closely with the architecture, chip design, and software teams.
Influence the mixed‑signal architecture from initial concept through high‑volume production.
Validate and specify system‑level mixed‑signal designs, integrating complex AMS and photonic circuits, including high‑speed drivers, receivers, SerDes, ADCs/DACs, digital controllers, and photonic modulators and detectors.
Collaborate with test and validation engineers to validate hardware against simulation predictions.
Translate pre‑silicon verification into post‑silicon validation with the DV team.
Support architectural‑level firmware validation.
Author, review, and validate architectural specifications and test methodologies.
Identify improvements and potential pitfalls, including mitigation strategies, for the proposed architectures.
Qualifications
MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience.
In‑depth knowledge of AMS design flows, preferably for photonic communication channels.
Proven track record of delivering high‑volume silicon to market and understanding the silicon product development flow.
Expertise in mixed‑signal circuit design for high‑speed analog/photonic links, including device bring‑up, control, and digital signal processing.
Hands‑on experience with lab instruments and test setups.
Strong problem‑solving skills for challenging problems.
Ability and desire to collaborate in a cross‑disciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of SerDes PCS layer, equalization, and forward error‑correction schemes.
Power user of development tools (AI agents, CAD tools, SPICE simulators, IBIS‑AMI simulators) and programming languages (MATLAB, Python).
Experience in optical link bring‑up and debug.
Salary Range
$186,000 USD – $210,000 USD (total compensation includes base salary, equity, and performance‑based rewards).
