Position Overview
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs comprehensive ultrasound examinations in accordance with ARDMS standards and established clinical protocols.
Responsibilities Include
Performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations per physician orders
Preparing and positioning patients to obtain optimal imaging
Reviewing patient history and relevant clinical information
Applying independent clinical judgment to capture anatomical and pathological findings
Evaluating exams for technical quality and completeness
Operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment
Maintaining accurate documentation and imaging records
Adhering to HIPAA, infection control, and regulatory guidelines
Collaborating with radiologists and healthcare professionals
This role emphasizes technical precision, independent judgment, and patient-centered care within a structured outpatient workflow.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (CAAHEP preferred)
ARDMS registered or registry eligible required
Minimum of six months of clinical experience preferred
BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
Strong attention to detail and independent decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Schedule & Compensation
$36.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience and credentials
Flexible employment status: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem
