Responsibilities
Reasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking candidate professionals, preferably with previous experience working with eating disorders, trauma, substance use and LGBTQIA+ communities to provide compassionate care to both adult and adolescent patients in our inpatient eating disorder program at BHC Alhambra Hospital. (Tues‑Sat or Sun‑Thurs)

BHC Alhambra Hospital, a private, fully accredited, full‑service acute psychiatric hospital, is located in Rosemead, California. It offers inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding areas.

The Program Therapist assists adult and adolescent patients in meeting their bio‑psychosocial needs while enabling them to access therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, completing specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short‑term and long‑term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Formulate and conduct educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups for adults and adolescents.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, health care team members and community providers regarding patient status and progress.

Interact and communicate with patients, families, outpatient providers, community agencies in assessment of and service to patients.

Provide liaison and referral services to community agencies and appear in court when requested or subpoenaed.

Maintain confidentiality in compliance with professional ethics according to professional and facility standards.

Qualifications
Requirements

Education: Master’s Degree required from an accredited college or university, in Psychology, Marriage/Family Therapy, Social Work or a clinical related mental health field preferred.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills, preferred; strong clinical assessment skills, preferred. For a specialty program experience with that population is preferred. In lieu of experience specialized education and training may be acceptable.

License: Program Therapist must be masters prepared or higher, license is not required.

Additional Requirements: May be required to work flexible hours and overtime. Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred.
