Position Summary
The Litigation Attorney is responsible for managing a caseload of personal injury matters from the filing of a lawsuit through resolution. This role requires strong litigation skills, strategic case management, and the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients in negotiations, hearings, and trial.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a docket of personal injury litigation cases from inception through trial
Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission)
Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
Develop case strategy, including liability and damages analysis
Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriers
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and expectations
Collaborate with case managers, paralegals, and support staff
Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of civil procedure and evidence rules
Trial experience or strong desire to try cases
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
Experience handling high-volume PI caseloads
Strong negotiation and settlement skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
