Responsibilities
Assist the Chief Engineer and 1st Assistant Engineer in all engine room operations and maintenance tasks.
Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of the main propulsion system, auxiliary machinery, and control systems.
Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maintain vessel safety and efficiency.
Record and report operational data, maintenance logs, and safety reports accurately.
Support emergency procedures and ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations.
Requirements
Valid and current engineering certification appropriate for the 2nd Assistant Engineer role.
Prior experience working onboard vessels, preferably in a similar capacity.
Strong understanding of marine engine systems, including propulsion, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Ability to work for a full 21-day hitch; flexibility and reliability are essential.
