Composite Straightener Operator – Monday–Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
Pay Range: $19.76 - $20.97/hour
What You’ll Do
As a Composite Straightener Operator, you’ll be part of the Stanley Black & Decker team located in East Longmeadow, MA. Your responsibilities include:
Check coil tags and material before annealing and again before straightening to assure proper coil identity. Load rigs into floor‑level annealing furnaces and input data into the controller.
Monitor automatic furnace cycles, unload using overhead hoist, inspect furnace conditions, and record temperature data.
Load coils of annealed stock onto pay‑off reels, thread through the rolling mill and straightener, and adjust equipment to achieve required thickness and straightness.
Use ultrasonic and laser inspection stations to detect defects, mark them, and cut out large defects if necessary.
Perform preventive maintenance, change transducers, calibrate laser gauges, and keep accurate production records.
Ensure safety, report unsafe conditions, and maintain a neat work area.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers.
1‑2 years of related experience preferred.
Ability to use numbers, including decimals.
Light physical effort required (lifting, pushing, pulling 5 to 25 pounds).

Salary Range
This is the lowest to highest hourly rate we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The hourly rate may vary based on location, experience, and local wage requirements.
Successful candidates may be eligible for general wage increases.
