
Maintenance Technician II

Join our team at Staples Mill Town apartments in Richmond, VA as a Maintenance Technician II and take the lead on repairs, preventative maintenance, and building operations for our apartment community. This mid-level role is ideal for those with strong technical skills who take pride in creating safe, high-quality living environments.
Key Responsibilities
Complete repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and carpentry
Lead unit turns, preventive maintenance, and common area upkeep
Support pool maintenance and safety protocols (CPO preferred)
Maintain tools, supplies, and grounds to PRG standards
Handle emergency on‑call rotations as scheduled
Diagnose and troubleshoot building systems
Track inventory and elevate major repair needs
Qualifications
2+ years of general or apartment maintenance experience
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
CPO and EPA Universal preferred (or ability to obtain)
Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs. and work on‑call as needed
Valid driver’s license required
High school diploma or equivalent
Comfortable working independently and mentoring others
