Material Handler, Receiving at Baxter
As a Material Handler, Receiving, you will manage the movement of raw materials and production supplies within the manufacturing facility. You will pick, transport, and stock items, and ensure accurate inventory records using the Enterprise Resource Planning software and other system tools. You will handle forklift operation, loading, unloading, and container transportation while maintaining a clean, safe work area following 6S principles.
Responsibilities
Pick raw materials and production supplies from warehouse either by hand, forklift or other means and deliver to the designated area
Pick up materials or empty containers from production areas and transport to the warehouse or other department as scheduled or upon request
Use the Enterprise Resource Planning software (GME) to access and update inventory locations and execute daily and weekly tasks
Receive IPSO (Inter‑Plant Shipping Orders) and prepare them for shipment
Secure trailer while loading by blocking and locking out
Load raw materials and production supplies into trailers and box trucks
Pre‑op the forklift and change out batteries (if required)
Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
Learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members and external vendors, suppliers, and customers.
Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
Must be able to perform basic mathematics.
Possess or be able to obtain Powered Industrial Truck Certification.
May be required to obtain Hazmat Training if not already completed.
Moderate computer skills required.
Previous experience with a forklift.
CRC (Career Readiness Certification) at the Silver level, preferred.
A high level of detail orientation and organizational skills to improve work area space.

Physical Requirements
Continuous operation of a forklift and frequent lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to pass the Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) physical.
Must be able to operate foot controls, bend/stoop, squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, twist and bend at the neck and waist, and maintain balance.
