Your Role:
As a Data Engineering Co-Op in the Next Gen Drug Delivery (NGDD) team, you will contribute to advancing how experimental data is generated, processed, and used to support next-generation drug delivery research.

You will contribute to the development and improvement of data pipelines for laboratory automation and experimental data processing within the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN). You will build internal dashboards and data products that enable scientists to explore experimental data, generate insights, and support decision‑making. You will assist in ingesting and structuring datasets in Palantir Foundry, supporting AI and machine learning workflows through well‑prepared, production‑ready data. You will also work on improving the consistency and usability of historical experimental data to enable reliable analysis and integration across platforms.

You will apply software engineering best practices (e.g., version control, testing, and modular design) to ensure reliable and maintainable solutions. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute to digital initiatives across bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and predictive machine learning, gaining exposure to a range of data‑driven approaches in a research environment.

Additional responsibilities may include collaborating with cross‑functional teams to identify opportunities for automation, conducting data quality assessments to ensure the integrity of datasets, and supporting colleagues in the effective use of digital tools and data management practices. You will gain hands‑on experience working with real‑world scientific data and modern data platforms in a research setting.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a master’s degree or PhD in a STEM field

Experience with AI‑assisted coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree focus in bioinformatics or cheminformatics

Familiarity with UNIX/Linux command‑line environments

Hands‑on laboratory experience with analytical chemistry or in vitro assays

Frontend development experience with React

Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices
