Overview
At HealthEquity, we’re obsessed with doing right by people - especially when it comes to how they grow, perform, and get rewarded for the work they do. You’ll sit at the intersection of Talent, Total Rewards, and People Technology, translating thoughtful programs into intuitive, scalable, and well-governed system solutions that leaders and team members actually enjoy using. This role is a high-impact consultative partner for someone who deeply understands how Workday can (and should) support Performance, Goals, Succession, Skills, and Compensation. Your success will show up in frictionless cycles, confident leaders, clean configurations, strong adoption, and a platform that just works.

You’ll report to the Director, People Technology & Operations and partner closely with Talent, Total Rewards, and other People Tech domain owners across the platform. HealthEquity’s Talent and Compensation programs are a critical part of how we attract, retain, and grow exceptional people. This role ensures those programs are:

Implemented thoughtfully and durably

Easy for leaders and team members to use

Scalable as the company grows

Aligned with both business intent and platform realities

If you love building clean systems, hate rework, and care deeply about user experience - you’ll thrive here.

What You’ll Be Doing
Own the Workday Talent & Compensation domain

Serve as the end‑to‑end owner for Performance, Goals, Succession, Skills, and Compensation configuration within Workday.

Ensure solutions are consistent, scalable, and aligned with broader platform standards.

Translate programs into great systems

Partner closely with Talent and Total Rewards COEs to understand program intent and operational needs.

Design, configure, test, and deploy Workday solutions that bring Talent and Compensation programs to life - without unnecessary complexity.

Lead Compensation configuration

Own the configuration and ongoing support of Workday Compensation functionality.

Ensure tight alignment between performance outcomes, talent decisions, and pay practices in partnership with Total Rewards.

Continuously improve the experience

Assess existing configurations and identify opportunities to improve usability, adoption, and scalability.

Monitor domain performance and user feedback to prioritize meaningful improvements.

Think beyond your lane

Proactively assess downstream impacts of configuration changes.

Partner with other People Technology domain owners to avoid fragmentation and duplication.

Ensure strong integration with Core HCM, Reporting, and Experience layers.

What Success Looks Like

Talent and Compensation cycles run smoothly - with minimal issues and strong adoption.

Leaders trust the system and feel confident using it.

Configurations are clean, scalable, and aligned with program intent.

The Workday platform supports Talent programs without friction, workarounds, or constant rework.

What You Will Need to Be Successful

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, Organizational Development, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.

Hands‑on experience configuring and supporting Workday Talent and/or Compensation modules.

Experience partnering with Talent COEs, Total Rewards, or People leadership on enterprise‑scale programs.

Comfort operating where People strategy and technology are tightly intertwined.

Strong understanding of Workday’s Talent and Compensation capabilities.

Ability to translate functional requirements into scalable, system‑enabled solutions.

Systems thinker with a sharp eye for consistency, quality, and user experience.

Confident, consultative partner – able to advise on what will work best within platform constraints.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Comfortable balancing hands‑on configuration with forward‑looking improvement work.

Workday Talent and/or Compensation certification preferred.

Additional certifications in Performance, Succession, or Skills are a plus.

We’re on a mission to empower people to make confident health and financial decisions. That starts with taking great care of our own team members - through thoughtful programs, equitable pay practices, and technology that supports growth instead of getting in the way.
