Valuation Associate

Responsibilities

Under supervision and oversight, prepares sections of the appraisal report for dispute resolution, mortgage underwriting, acquisition/disposition, portfolio analysis, estate purposes and other intended uses.

Engages in appraisal completion, developing rational, supported assumptions and conclusions.

Aggregates, analyzes, interprets, and reports complex appraisal‑related market data from internal and external sources.

Collects and initially analyzes property information, including leases, rent rolls and financial statements.

Inspects properties as part of the valuation process with senior staff and independently as appropriate for property type, market and client requirements.

Develops skills under guidance of senior staff to complete valuation sections, including highest and best use analysis.

Progresses to preparing complete appraisal reports under direct supervision of state‑certified general appraisers.

Participates in formal rebuttal or review response letters with senior staff.

Participates in client meetings.

Completes coursework (2 to 4 classes) to obtain state appraisal license.

Maintains knowledge of current government regulations, zoning laws and appraisal standards.

Understands and utilizes all necessary software programs and data sources.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in real estate or related subjects (economics, finance). Preference for MS or MBA in real estate.

Minimum 1–3 years of professional experience in real estate analysis, market research or related field.

Knowledge of Argus an plus.

Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.

Strong organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
