Responsibilities
Support faculty- and graduate student–led projects by completing assigned research tasks such as data collection, literature review, analysis, and other project-specific responsibilities.
Attend weekly professional development activities and participate in field trips organized by the program director to enhance academic and career readiness.
Prepare and submit a research abstract by the program's assigned deadline.
Develop and deliver both a poster and an oral presentation as part of the end-of-summer research symposium.
Program Details
The OSU Physics REU program will provide 8 non-OSU undergraduate students with research training in one of the following seven research areas:
Atomic, molecular, and optical physics
Biophysics
Nuclear physics
Particle physics
Astrophysics
Condensed matter physics
Physics education research
Field Trips and Professional Development
The students will also engage in a program of field trips and professional development activities that educate them about the conduct of research and the prospects for careers in physics.
Background Check
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
