Deliver highlights, breaking sports news, enterprise stories, and conversational sports content.
Perform confidently on live television, including ad‑libbing during breaking or developing coverage.

Report live and remotely from sporting events, press conferences, and community locations.
Develop and produce original enterprise sports stories that differentiate CBS Detroit in the market.
Conduct compelling interviews with athletes, coaches, sports executives, and community stakeholders.
Demonstrate strong editorial judgment and storytelling instincts on all assignments.
Multi‑Skilled Field Production (MMJ):
Independently shoot, write, edit, and produce sports content for broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
Execute high‑quality visual storytelling using natural sound, strong sequencing, and creative shot selection.
Meet daily deadlines while maintaining accuracy, fairness, and journalistic integrity.
Digital & Social Content:
Produce and adapt sports coverage for station digital platforms, mobile apps, streaming, and social media.
Consistently contribute engaging content that drives audience growth and aligns with station strategy.
Understand how to tell stories differently for linear TV, streaming, and short‑form digital platforms.
Editorial & Team Collaboration:
Actively participate in daily editorial meetings and contribute consistent, newsworthy story pitches.
Collaborate with producers, photographers, editors, and newsroom leadership.
Support major station initiatives, special coverage, and breaking news as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Sports Anchor and/or Sports Reporter; top‑20 market experience preferred.
