SCADA Superstar - Enetk
Kelso Industries, Dickinson, ND, United States
Overview
SCADA Superstar role for Kelso Industries. We’re not looking for someone to “support” SCADA — you own it: design it right the first time, fix what others couldn’t, and make systems operators actually want to use. In an industrial environment with real equipment, you’ll be the one people call when alarms are screaming, data looks wrong, or a system upgrade should have been simple.
What You’ll Do
Design and build industrial SCADA systems from the ground up
Configure and develop in Ignition, FactoryTalk, Wonderware (or similar)
Create HMIs that operators don’t hate (and might even compliment)
Integrate with PLCs/RTUs (Allen-Bradley, Modbus, etc.)
Handle industrial communications: EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC, DNP3
Develop historians, trends, reports, and data systems that actually make sense
Build and tune alarm systems so they’re useful — not just noisy
Design and troubleshoot SCADA networks and system architecture
Commission systems in the field and make them work under real conditions
Diagnose problems across SCADA, PLCs, and networks without finger-pointing
Upgrade existing systems without breaking everything (it’s a skill)
Maintain clean documentation — because future-you deserves better
What You’re Good At
Troubleshooting across SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networks
Turning vague requirements into working systems
Managing multiple projects without losing track
Communicating clearly with both engineers and operators
Working independently — because hand-holding isn’t part of the job
Knowing when something is “good enough” … and when it absolutely isn’t
What You Bring
3+ years building and supporting SCADA systems in industrial environments
Experience with Ignition, FactoryTalk, Wonderware, or equivalent
Strong background with Allen-Bradley / Logix platforms (or similar)
Real experience in industrial settings (Oil & Gas is a plus, but not required)
Understanding of networking, data flow, and system architecture
Ability to go from design → implementation → commissioning
Degree is nice. Proven experience is better.
Where You’ll Work
Industrial facilities (plants, sites, and places where things actually happen)
Outdoor environments, loud equipment, and the occasional “what is that noise?”
Travel as needed to get systems online and keep them running
The Non-Negotiables
Systems work when you’re done with them
Documentation exists and makes sense
Safety isn’t optional
Deadlines matter
Mission & Values (Short Version)
We build systems that work, with people who follow through.
Accountability
Reliability
Integrity
Safety
Communication
