Job Summary
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is dedicated to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians while driving innovation in cancer research. The Frederic Geissmann Lab focuses on the development and function of macrophages, monocytes, and dendritic cells to discover how immune cells influence tissue growth, metabolism, and cancer progression.
Role Overview
Laboratory Support:
Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.
Techniques & Assays:
Perform specialized techniques such as cell culture, qPCR, western blot, ELISA, CRISPR, etc.
Animal Handling:
Conduct animal studies, including injections, tissue/fluid collection, genotyping, and animal autopsies.
Data Management:
Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
Collaboration:
Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team‑oriented supportive environment.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in biology/life sciences.
Basic laboratory skills; experience with cell culture, western blotting, qPCR, ELISA, CRISPR or IHC staining.
Comfort working with mouse models is required for this role.
Core Skills
Attention to detail and strong record‑keeping habits.
Ability to follow protocols while troubleshooting when needed.
Strong scientific curiosity with proactive approach to learning.
Team‑oriented approach to supporting postdocs and fellow researchers.
Adaptability in a dynamic lab environment.
Additional Information
Location: NYC; Zuckerman Research Center
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week (onsite)
Pay Range: $26.77 - $40.05 per hour
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
