
Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology

Description
Radiation Oncology RN for outpatient clinic with oncology based patient population, consisting of head and neck, breast, GYN, lung, GI, neuro, transplant, prostate, and URO patient. Serving mainly adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. 12 room clinics with 2 procedure rooms that works as a care team rather than patient ratios. NO float/call/weekend required. Days, 5x8. 2 years experience Required, NO 1st time travellers. EPIC documentation, Pyxis, Aria Data, and SBAR. 24 hours of orientation, Caribbean blue scrubs not provided by unit.

Understanding of high dose rad therapy (interstitial, ring tandem, vaginal CYL, TBI, head and neck scoping, pelvic exam, space oar treatment)
Head and neck scope management
POC testing
Recognize/communicate abnormal lab values
Accessing/Managing Ports
Care and management of ports
Central line blood draw
Central Line/Implanted Line Care
Infusion pump management
Intravenous hydration/multivitamins
PICC line care
Starting and maintaining IVs
Antibiotics
Sepsis
IV push narcotic agents
Care coordination
Isolation Precautions/PPE
Telephone Triage
