TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Evansville, Indiana. This 13‑week, 36‑hour per week assignment involves 12‑hour night shifts and is a travel opportunity.

We're looking for Progressive Care Unit RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening. The right RN should have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
Responsibilities
As a PCU Travel Nurse, you will care for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment, but are not unstable enough to need ICU care. You will use computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detecting changes to enable intervention in life‑threatening or emergency situations. Many PCU patients receive complex medications, sometimes through intravenous lines that may need adjustment or titration. The PCU RN is sometimes also called a step‑down nurse, and the unit is also known as cardiac step‑down, medical step‑down, neuro step‑down, surgical step‑down and ER holding.
Tasks
Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
Initiate corrective action whenever monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
PCU Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs must be able to lift 20 pounds easily and may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The fast‑paced environment requires strong stress‑coping skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Requirements
BLS, ACLS, NIH, 2 Years of experience
Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
