Responsibilities
Technical
– 60%
Gross description and dissection of whole prostate specimens, prostate mapping biopsy specimens.
CMOCO only biopsy tissue samples.
Reprocessing of FFPI tissue samples for Electron Microscopy.
Paraffin embedding of large format and biopsy tissue samples.
Microtomy sectioning of tissue samples.
Staining and cover slipping of tissue samples.
Administrative
– 20%
Manual tracking of patient tissue samples.
Maintenance of supply inventory.
Compliance and operational
– 20%
Cleaning and organization of workstations.
Disposal of biological waste.
Changing solutions in tissue processors.
Adherence to all operational maintenance requirements.
Work Location
Onsite — this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in biological science, nutrition, nursing, health, human services, psychology, counseling, social work, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
Histotechnician or Histotechnologist Certification (HT, HTL, ASCP), or eligible for certification. If eligible but uncertified, certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Immunohistochemistry Certification (QIHC, ASCP).
Experience with laboratory equipment, staining systems, and data analysis.
Experience developing reports, spreadsheets, and databases (Microsoft Office).
Experience entering data into electronic information systems.
Experience purchasing and maintaining lab supplies.
Experience cleaning and maintaining laboratories and lab equipment.
Experience working in an educational medical lab environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Effective written and oral communication.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships across the organization.
Outstanding customer service skills.
