Job Summary
The Home Health - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will work with patients in their homes to provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. The COTA will help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Responsibilities
Assist the occupational therapist in evaluating patients' needs and developing treatment plans.
Provide occupational therapy services to patients in their homes.
Help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
Document patient progress and communicate with the occupational therapist and other healthcare professionals as needed.
Provide education to patients and their families about occupational therapy and home exercise programs.
Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines for occupational therapy services.
Requirements
Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Minimum of 1 year of experience in home health or a related setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
