Nursing/Clinical Support

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign‑on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

0–1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)

1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired into a Full or Part time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Unit Bio
The NICU/CCN in The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital is a 51‑bed level III‑IV unit. This is the largest ICU in the state of Maine. We have single rooms with state of the art equipment and work closely with all disciplines—surgical, cardiac, GI, genetics, renal, palliative care, etc. We have Neonatologists and APPs covering 24/7 with a nursing staff of 150. We have an active critical care transport team and a nurse‑driven PICC Team.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – 31 beds & Continuing Care Nursery – 20 beds

Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant II role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

Experience: One year of relevant experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Certified Nursing Assistant I role.
