Patient Care Tech / Telemetry Technician - Cardiovascular Unit - Days
Hourly Pay Range:
$19.31 - $28.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

: Patient Care Technician/Tele Technician
Location
: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126
Full Time
: 36 hours per week
Hours
: 7am-7pm (4-5 weekends in a 6 week period) and rotating holiday track
Responsibilities
Patient Care Tech: Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort and safety of patients.
Telemetry Tech: Under general supervision, monitors cardiac rhythms and oxygen saturation to detect abnormal pattern variances via telemetry equipment. In doing so, monitors screens, assesses patients' cardiac rhythms, prints strips for medical charts, and notifies nursing and/or medical personnel according to established procedure. Performs related clerical duties such as answering routine questions, taking and relaying telephone calls, and the like.
Requirements
Education
: High School Diploma/GED
Certification
: Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Associates or American Red Cross
Experience
: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
Minimum three months of previous healthcare or monitor tech experience.
Attend an in-depth orientation regarding patient care skill tasks
Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
