Jail Nurse – Make a Meaningful Impact in Your Community
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Jail Nurse to provide essential healthcare services within the Manitowoc County Jail. This is a unique opportunity to use your clinical skills in a dynamic environment where your work directly supports the health, safety, and well-being of both inmates and staff.
What You’ll Do:
Assess inmate health needs and deliver individualized care and case management
Provide primary nursing care and oversee medication administration
Review intake health screenings and communicate critical medical concerns to jail administration
Collaborate with dietary staff to address specialized nutritional needs
Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation
Train corrections staff on first aid, medication procedures, and communicable disease prevention
