Job Title: Nurse Clinical/UKHC / TRAUMA 10-200 UB

Salary: $28.00 – $39.10 per hour
Type of Position: Staff
Position Time Status: Full‑Time
Shift: Must work every Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday night shifts 7 PM–7:30 AM. Work 24 hours/week and receive pay for 36 hours/week on the weekend premium position.
Required Education: ADN (no experience required)
Preferred Education: BSN plus at least 1 year of RN experience
Required License: Active Kentucky RN license, TWP, provisional or active compact state RN license in good standing plus AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date
Required Experience: No experience required
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50–100 lbs daily, 25–50 lbs frequently, stand, walk, sit for long periods; exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from patients or sharp instruments.
Job Summary
The primary responsibilities include providing total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient‑centered care. Responsibilities consist of assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians; and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations. The environment supports collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to improve patient outcomes and to utilize the nursing process with a patient‑centered plan.
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
Knowledge of Maslow’s Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns Framework, and Swanson’s Caring model.
Superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills.
Basic computer navigation and internet proficiency.
Professional and respectful communication with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills; highly motivated, proactive, and confident advocate for patients and families.
Excellent teamwork abilities and capacity to work independently.
