News On 6 Summer Newsroom Intern

Job Summary
The Newsroom Intern will assist and observe in the workings of a newsroom at Griffin Media and News On 6 in the Tulsa office.

Job Responsibilities

Learn basic producer skills, including writing, researching facts, logging video, timing of stories and newscast, utilizing wire services, and prompter operation.

Learn basic reporting skills, including interviewing sources, logging video, writing stories, and appearing on camera.

Learn basic web skills, including writing and posting stories to News9.com, as well as using social media to post and gather news.

Further learning opportunities possible by shadowing different members of the diverse station.

Job Schedule
This is an unpaid internship for college credit. The schedule is flexible, but hours required for credits must be met. Internship is available for the summer semester.
