
QC Chemist (2nd Shift)

Job Summary
This critical laboratory role ensures the scientific integrity and quality of chemical components through rigorous analytical testing and adherence to global regulatory standards. The individual will perform complex wet chemistry evaluations, ensuring that every batch meets the precise specifications required for downstream Life Sciences applications.
Shift:
second shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM).
Location:
Cleveland, Ohio.
Job Type:
Contract.
Salary:
$25–30 per hour.
Work Hours:
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (or Associate with 5 years experience).
Responsibilities
Testing experience: IR, pH, Solubility, and other wet chemistry analysis.
Complete peer reviews of analytical data.
Execute Wet Chemistry Validation Protocols.
Understand compendial testing methods (USP/EP/JP).
Utilize written procedures to perform testing.
Demonstrate strong planning & organizational skills.
Solution focus when faced with problems or setbacks.
Highly self‑motivated; strong initiative and drive.
Demonstrated critical‑thinking skills.
Recognize out‑of‑spec (OOS) results and conduct investigations to determine root cause with corrective actions.
Perform needed instrument or titrant verification/calibration during scheduled time.
Demonstrate Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Data Integrity Principles.
Attention to detail and bring issues to supervision’s attention.
Work effectively in a team environment.
Use basic computer software (Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365).
Work independently and take initiative to perform daily job functions and special projects.
Follow current procedures and demonstrate proper laboratory safety and housekeeping practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Life Science field with minimum 3 years of laboratory experience.
OR – Associate degree in Chemistry or other Life Science field with minimum 5 years of experience outside academic laboratories.
GMP laboratory experience preferred.
Required Skills
Chemistry, FTIR Spectroscopy.
Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
pH Meter.
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Quality Control (QC) – QC testing.
