
Behavioral Health Services Intake Specialist - Contingent - Days - Jackson

General Summary
Under general supervision, the Intake Specialist responds to inquiries from the general public, physicians, and behavioral health providers regarding behavioral health treatment.
Additional Responsibilities
Arranges for patient admission or refers callers to appropriate facilities.
Evaluates prospective patients and secures required medical information in accordance with established standards.
Coordinates the admission process.
Prepares preliminary treatment plan.
Communicates with physician or nursing personnel regarding patient condition.
Education/Experience Required
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree in behavioral health preferred.
Mental health/chemical dependence or behavioral health services background preferred.
Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of related experience required.
Ability to answer telephones, establish filing systems, interview others, maintain logs, and schedule appointments.
Computer knowledge (basic database, email, MS Office); photocopier, fax.
