Travel Registered Nurse – ICU/Stepdown & PCU
Location: Rochester, New York, United States
Start date: 05/11/2026 | Duration: 13 weeks | Shift: 12‑hour shifts (3×12) Rotating D/E/N with weekends/holidays on‑call/callback
Weekly pay: $2,071–$2,174 per week | Guaranteed hours: 0.0

NY RN license required; two years of RN experience and telemetry experience essential
Prior stepdown/PCU experience and high‑acuity neuro
eurosurgery exposure strongly preferred
On‑site collaboration with neurology and neurosurgery teams; potential for leadership activities
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care for neurocritical and neurosurgical patients, aligned with established standards and unit policies
Perform and document frequent neuro checks (Q1 neuro checks) and monitor for changes in neurologic status; respond to decompensation promptly
Manage complex neuro‑related infusions and precautions, including arterial line care and devices such as EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, VP shunts, and related monitoring
Administer medications and infusions per physician orders, including specific neurosurgical and neurointensive therapies as indicated (e.g., Cardene infusions, 3% NS as prescribed)
Collaborate with the care team, participate in rounds, and assume charge nurse, preceptor, or committee duties as appropriate
Ensure accurate documentation, safety, infection control, and quality measures; coordinate with ancillary services to optimize patient outcomes
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse license in New York (NY RN license)
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Telemetry experience required
Stepdown/PCU experience required
Minimum 2 years of RN clinical experience
ACLS certification preferred; NIHSS certification preferred
Neurocritical care and neurosurgical exposure preferred (neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, arterial lines, drains/temperature management, DBS considerations, VP shunts, seizures)
Ability to work in a high‑acuity inpatient‑like setting with rotating shifts
