Role Overview
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist in an assigned facility. The position includes clinical responsibilities, administrative duties, and adherence to state regulations.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, always follow all state‑specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care.
Follow the treatment plan only as defined by the Occupational Therapist; perform only those procedures for which the COTA is qualified and trained.
Make all recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Qualifications
Possess a degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
Maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the assigned state.
Adaptable, compassionate, detail‑oriented, friendly, and courteous.
Possess a moderate degree of physical strength required to assist patients.
Ability to kneel, stoop, and stand for extended periods, with or without accommodation.
