Position Purpose
Working with all neighborhood team members and within the scope of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act, the primary purpose of this position is to provide direct nursing care and support to the neighborhood residents in accordance with ERS’s established policies, person‑centered care principles, nursing procedures and neighborhood standards to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
As an RN you can expect to:
Promote residents’ well‑being and satisfaction by supporting resident‑centered care, developing and interpreting standards of care, guiding the interdisciplinary team as it implements residents’ plans of care with the resident and their family or responsible party.
Model and ensure that medical treatment honors resident preferences and individuality, demonstrating strong commitment to the highest clinical outcomes.
Administer medications and perform treatments and nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures, ensuring all physician/consultant orders and changes to orders are followed.
Execute professional services such as catheterization, intravenous therapy, tube feedings, suction, dressing and bandage changes, colostomy and drainage care, massage and range‑of‑motion exercises, care for the dying/dead, and specimen collection for lab tests.
Monitor residents’ activities of daily living in relation to normal aging or disease processes through assessments of mental status, physical condition, and emotional and spiritual well‑being, encouraging participation in activities and coordinating schedules.
Document assessments and progress notes in the EMR, ensuring all entries are signed and dated, and report any discrepancies concerning physician’s orders, diet changes, or charting errors to the Household Coordinator or Director of Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications
Possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN training program, and hold a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in the State of Kentucky.
Preferable: nursing experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related medical facility.
Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long‑term care.
