MRI Tech, PRN
The MRI Technologist reports to the designated leader within the Imaging Department. The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist will provide clinical services according to MRI practice standards and act as a resource to other technologists while ensuring optimal department functions. To help achieve our mission, the MRI Technologist will administer sound patient care practices according to department/hospital policies and procedures while ensuring patient safety. The ability to demonstrate magnetic safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines is of vital importance. Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition ensures safety of the patients and team members. Completing ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations is expected.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Diploma from certified school of Radiology required.
Bachelor's of Science or Master's of Science in healthcare related field from an accredited educational institution preferred.
Experience
Two years of experience as an MRI Tech and acute care experience preferred.
Skills
Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology.
Demonstrates strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
Must have computer proficiency and knowledge of various software applications.
License / Certification
Current ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
