
Night Shift Welder (ASME Experience, ; 3G & 6G) in Brookshire

Job Summary
The Welder is to cut and join metals and other materials. Operate proper equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Welder must be competent in utilizing welding equipment by following safety precautions.
Essential Responsibilities
Figuring out degrees on nozzles and projections on nozzles
Understand and know how to use proper tools for fit-ups
Read engineering drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Develops knowledge in all company safety policies and industry standards
Set‑up components for welding according to specifications
Safely operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components using calipers, rulers, clamp pieces, etc.
Weld components using manual or semi‑automatic welding equipment in various positions
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
All other tasks as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
Highly experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures for vessels (TIG, MMA, SUBARC, MIG WELDING ROOT, FLUXCORE FILL AND CAP FOR PLATE 3G AND/OR 6G)
Highly Fitting Experience
Highly Layout experience on pressure vessels
Must have 1+ years of proven experience as a welder in shop environment
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment (PPE)
Must be able to read and follow instructions both written and verbally in English
Physical Requirements
Candidates must have the ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Work in a high‑pace manufacturing environment. Work in extreme temperatures with loud noises and enclosed spaces. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse shop or field conditions. Lift, push, pull or carry objects using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi‑limb coordination. Ability to move arms and legs quickly. Requires sufficient visual acuity to read fine detail in shop drawings, various tools and manipulate fabrication parts to narrow tolerances. Overtime may be required at times to meet tight deadlines.
