Engineering Technician (Level 4)

to support on-site at our

Rocket Center, WV

location. This position is on-site; no remote opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

Support project objectives by performing fabrication and test activities with the support, guidance and direction of propulsion engineers and leadership.
Assist with design for manufacturing activities by making thoughtful and valuable suggestions and recommendations for improvements.
Operate engineering prototyping equipment including but not limited to heated platen press, cure ovens, vertical & horizontal band saws, and small hand tools.
Follow material & process procedures developed by propulsion engineers.
Ability to use scales and calculate material weights and ratios.
Document process steps on development projects.
Work with operations and IPT to manage and coordinate movement of MRB product, including assisting operators with propellant trimming reworks, or assisting with motors being repaired (i.e., slot machining void motors).
Track motors on DI and assist IPT in timely disposition and processing of MRB product.
Assist in building of LATs and Engr Evaluation Units.
Assist in post-fire inspection of LATs.
Assist in writing/executing DI rework orders.
Assist in collecting/preparing scrap hardware including motors for disposal.
Assist in failure investigations as needed (data gathering, photo taking, photo review, in person review, etc.).
Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma and 6 years’ experience in a technical field
U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications

Leadership & teamwork capabilities
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment
Able to work in an autonomous work environment on complex projects
Perform hand layup operations using various materials
Experience using an autoclave and making vacuum bag
Primary Level Salary Range: $68,300.00 - $113,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
