Assembly Supervisor (1st & 2nd Shift, Heavy Manufacturing Exp. Req.)
Location: Near Pittsburgh, PA (Relocation Assistance Available)
Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: Monday–Friday ROTATING 1st shift (5:00am–3:30pm) and 2nd shift (3:30pm–2:00am)
Weekend Hours: Occasional Saturday shifts (bonus pay for weekend hours)

Job Overview
Our client in the transformer manufacturing industry is seeking an Assembly Supervisor to join their team near Pittsburgh, PA. This role will lead a team in a hands‑on heavy manufacturing environment, overseeing the assembly of transformer components and ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing, strong mechanical aptitude, and hands‑on experience with tools and industrial equipment. Responsibilities
Supervise approximately 16 assembly workers in a hands‑on heavy manufacturing environment
Oversee assembly operations involving transformer component integration and final build
Assign daily work based on production schedules to meet output and delivery targets
Spend approximately 80% time on the production floor, supporting team execution
Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety standards, and quality requirements
Oversee the use of hydraulic crimpers, torque tools, clamps, gauges, and other hand tools
Coordinate and oversee the use of overhead cranes and forklifts
Partner with Quality to identify defects, resolve issues, and maintain product standards
Monitor productivity, workflow, and efficiency while driving process improvements
Communicate shift updates, production status, and key issues with leadership
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Motivate, coach, and develop team members to improve performance and engagement
Qualifications
3+ years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing is required
Strong mechanical aptitude & familiarity with hand tools/industrial equipment is required
Experience working in a multicultural, diverse workforce environment is required
Willingness to obtain forklift and crane certification is required; company paid
Strong focus on process improvement and quality control is required
Ability to work weekly rotating 1st & 2nd shifts and occasional Saturdays (Bonus Pay) is required
