Lead Mechanical Engineer PE – Technical Lead (Hybrid)
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid) – Remote work and on‑site office presence.
Salary: $120,000 – $200,000 per year
Job Overview
We are seeking a senior mechanical engineer with a Professional Engineer license in Utah to lead the Salt Lake City office. The role includes project ownership from design to completion, client engagement, team leadership, and business development opportunities. The position offers a fast track for advancement to Principal within two years.
Key Responsibilities
Run projects from concept through construction, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
Lead client meetings, coordinate design interfaces, and manage project scope.
Oversee junior staff, provide technical guidance, and ensure compliance with mechanical codes and standards.
Prepare detailed engineering calculations, system layouts, and reports.
Support the RFP process, interview process, and business development initiatives.
Engage with community and industry organizations to build the firm’s brand.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
6–15 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design for commercial, institutional, or mission‑critical facilities.
Professional Engineering License (P.E.) in Utah, or ability to obtain reciprocity.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office suite.
Strong knowledge of building mechanical systems and national codes, standards, and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with high attention to detail.
Experience with project management, client relationships, and construction administration.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage full project life cycle.
