About the Role:
Bell Mechanical Services is hiring an experienced Lead HVAC Retrofit Install Technician to take charge of residential system replacements and upgrades. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a skilled installer who can run jobs, guide helpers, and ensure high-quality installs from start to finish.
What You’ll Do:
Lead residential HVAC retrofit installations (furnaces, condensers, air handlers, heat pumps)
Remove and replace existing systems with precision and efficiency
Oversee and mentor install helpers/crew members on job sites
Ensure all installs meet code requirements and company quality standards
Read and interpret job specs, layouts, and installation plans
Communicate with homeowners professionally throughout the job
Complete install documentation and job reports
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and job site cleanliness
What We’re Looking For:
3+ years of
hands‑on HVAC installation experience
(retrofit/residential required)
Prior
lead installer experience
or strong ability to run jobs independently
Solid understanding of HVAC systems, airflow, ductwork, and install best practices
EPA Certification (required or ability to obtain quickly)
Strong troubleshooting skills during install when issues arise
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to lift 75 lbs., work in attics/crawlspaces, and handle physical workload
Reliable, team-oriented, and detail-focused
Nice to Have:
NATE Certification
Experience with duct modifications and system design improvements
