The
Maintenance/Painter
performs a variety of duties in and around the hospital buildings to maintain the facility in a safe, efficient, attractive, and orderly condition. Duties include repairing and maintaining machinery, mechanical equipment, and buildings; basic repairs for facility equipment and systems; general cleaning, painting, waste removal, and basic building care. Understanding of basic HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life/safety systems is required.

Qualifications
Licenses or Certifications: Valid state driver’s license and a passing motor vehicle record check (to be completed upon hire and annually).
Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year experience in maintenance/engineering, preferably in a healthcare environment. Electrical license preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of maintenance and operation of HVAC equipment, mechanical equipment, electrical, plumbing, life/safety systems, and grounds maintenance.
Familiar with use of power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
Must be available for after hours, overtime and call‑in emergencies.
Ability to read and follow directions.
Ability to work efficiently and according to schedule.
Ability to interact positively and communicate well with patients, families, co‑workers, supervisors and other hospital employees.
Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
