Responsibilities
Training Program Responsibilities:
Understand construction plans.
Understand contractor payment procedures and processes.
Awareness of material needs.
Understand contract documents.
Develop appropriate inspection plans.
Full‑Time Essential Functions:
Maintain detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations, including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events affecting work.
Monitor work zone traffic control and erosion control plans, identify discrepancies and potential issues.
Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work.
Verify dimensions of prepared and completed work.
Inspect construction work and conduct field tests.
Track and measure completed work quantities for payment.
Perform survey checks.
Complete other tasks as assigned.
SkillBridge Training Start Date
Start dates are dependent on the qualified service member, adjustable as necessary, and will last approximately 12 weeks.
Qualifications
Active‑Duty Service Member within 180 days of honorable separation.
Eligible/Approved for the DoD SkillBridge program.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Must obtain required certifications and pass appropriate qualification tests within specified time frames.
Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outdoor conditions.
Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks.
Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in civil engineering, construction management, construction engineering, engineering management, or a related field from an ABET‑accredited university.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
Army 12 Series MOS or similar.
Air Force AFSC 3E5X1 or similar.
Navy NOS H100, H110 or similar.
USMC MOS 1345, 1341 or similar.
Coast Guard ENG MOS or similar.
