Job Description
HII-Mission Technologies is hiring a mission-focused Field Service/Support Representative (FSR) to support electromagnetic warfare (EW) systems across integration events, training exercises, and operational deployments. You’ll be our forward technical face: integrating Electromagnetic Warfare sensors, training users, operating systems in the field, troubleshooting complex RF issues, and keeping fleets mission‑ready. This role is onsite in Syracuse, NY with approximately 25% - 50% travel (CONUS/OCONUS as needed). U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance are required (active Secret preferred).
Essential Job Responsibilities
Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives. Acts as local on‑site representative to customer's organization.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
3‑8+ years in RF/EW, avionics, SIGINT/ESM/ECM/EA, EW test or field maintenance; or equivalent military maintainer background.
Proficiency with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, VNA), basic bench tools, and diagnostic software.
Comfort with Linux/Windows for loading mission data, drivers, and scripts; basic IP networking (switching, VLANs, DHCP, routing).
Strong technical writing and customer‑facing communication; able to teach/brief diverse audiences.
Travel ~25% - 50%, including ranges/ships/airfields and occasional austere environments; valid passport and driver’s license.
Self‑motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction.
Ability to:
Work both in a team and individually.
Multi‑task and work well under pressure.
Lift 50 lbs, work on flightline/shipboard or tactical platforms, and comply with site safety requirements.
Obtain Secret Clearance.
Preferred Requirements
Prior FSR or fielding experience with DoD customers.
Familiarity with EW mission threads (ESM/EA, radar warning, countermeasures), EWIR/mission data loads, and MIL‑STD‑461/810 environmental/EMI practices.
Experience with COMSEC/crypto handling and key management; compliance with program and service policy.
Exposure to PM EW&C / PM TCE (Army), NAVAIR / Navy PMA programs, or USAF EW platforms (e.g., DEWS/Compass Call).
Scripting for data capture/analysis (Python/Bash), basic SATCOM/RF datalinks, and instrumentation control (SCPI/USB/LAN).
Train‑the‑Trainer, CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570 IAT II) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Active Secret Clearance.
